Second Semester   /   / 18 (first period) by the start of the period!

/   / 18 (3rd and 7th period) by the start of the period!

Only Acceptable Excuse: Jail! (Please Bring Proof!)

"Second Chance" Due Date:
First Semester 11 / 14 / 17 NO LATER THAN 3PM (All periods)!

Second Semester   /   / 1 NO LATER THAN THE END OF FIRST PERIOD (All periods)!

**REMINDER: WE WORKED ON THIS PROJECT IN SMALL PARTS TOGETHER. THERE IS NO REASON WHY YOU SHOULD TURN THIS IN LATE (PAST THE FIRST OR SECOND CHANCE DATE), OR EVEN ON THE DUE DATE FOR THAT MATTER.

WE WORKED ON IT TOGETHER. YOU SHOULD BE TURNING IT IN EARLY!**

Note: You can get no better than a 70% (C-) grade if turned in after the due date (start of period) and before the second chance date.

"Third Chance" Due Date: None. Don't bother.

Stock Article Connections
MICROECONOMICS!

When we (you) begin the stocks project and are making article connections, here are some microeconomic topic ideas:
  • Any basic economic concept
  • Economic Choice, Scarcity
  • Economic Systems (Command/Market/Traditional)
  •  Capitalism/Economic Freedom
  • Business Organization (Sole Proprietorship/Partnership/Corporation)
  • Demand
  • Supply
  • Prices
  • Competition (Monopoly, Oligopoly, Monopolistic Competition, Market)
First, you have to read the article (obvious). Next, think about the BIG IDEA! of the article. Can you match that BIG IDEA! with one (or more) of the above topics? If so, you now have an article in the microeconomic category!

Special thanks to Wikipedia and Google search for many of the photos on this page!
Stock Article Connections II

  • GDP
  • CPI
  • The Business Cycle
  • Inflation
  • Poverty
  • The FED/Monetary Policy
  • Fiscal Policy
First, you have to read the article (obvious). Next, think about the BIG IDEA! of the article. If it matches one (or more) of the above topics, you now possess a macroeconomic article!

Here are some very basic generalities regarding the price earnings ratio (P/E)
This may help you with your stock research.

If the price earnings ratio (P/E) is:

N/A - A company with no earnings has an undefined P/E. By convention, companies with losses (negative earnings) are usually treated as having an undefined P/E ratio, even though a negative P/E can be mathematically determined.

0-10 - Either the stock is undervalued or the company's earnings are thought to be in decline. Alternately, current earnings may be substantially above historic trends or the company may have profited from selling assets.

10-17 - For many companies a P/E in this range may be considered fair value.

17-25 - Either the stock is overvalued or the company's earnings have increased since the last earnings figure was published. The stock may also be a growth stock with earnings expected to increase substantially in the future.

25+ - A company whose shares have a very high P/E may have high expected future growth in earnings or the stock may be the subject of a speculative bubble.
